Astor recorded 2,474 new planning applications across the boroughs we track this week, with 95 decisions issued. Lambeth and Ealing dominated submissions with 382 and 338 new filings respectively. Of decisions, 79 were approved, 8 refused, and 8 withdrawn. Notable activity includes condition discharges at major residential schemes in Ealing and Derby.
We logged 2,474 new applications across the 34 councils in our network this week — 17 of them London boroughs, the rest authorities outside London. London has 33 boroughs. (Corrected 11 August 2026: the headline described those 34 councils as boroughs, which reads as a count of London boroughs.) Of 95 decisions handed down, 79 were approvals and 8 were refusals; 8 were withdrawn. Lambeth led with 382 new filings, followed by Ealing's 338.
Ealing is processing a condition discharge for Blocks E and F of the Park View/Cloister Road scheme, part of an ongoing S.73 variation. Lewisham received a lawful development certificate application for a residential conversion at Cricketers Walk. Derby is working through highways condition discharges for an 800-dwelling outline on land north of Snelsmoor Lane.
